Dear facebook fiends,

I have been on facebook for sometime now, but realize I have not invited my very best friends to hop aboard.  How very rude of me. Forgive?

I am now extending a very pale n’ boney hand. Will you not join my tribe of lovely gouls n’ goblins?

The Kreep Conjures Up Parthenia Goste

In my Gothic lair dubbed Point Wilson nestled in the Victorian sea port of Port Townsend, I have the quaintest nuisance, an apparition named Parthenia Goste.  She is not nearly as old as I yet left the physical world at the tender age of 36.  After many sleepless nights, subjected to her trick n’ treats, Parthenia decided to leave poems ubiquitously about my palace.   On steamy mirrors n’ frosty windows, she delicately fingered her reflections.  I was, t’say the least, absolutely tickled.

For your lovely contemplation, here is one of those letters simply entitled I Thought.

R. I. P. Vincent Price

Below is a page from my miniature-illustrated book of poems entitled Kreepy Krumbs. The illustration is a nod to the 1958 horror film The Fly, and the poem, of course, to its star Vincent Price.

I met Vincent many years ago, in the Fall of ‘76. I spent a glorious weekend with him as he toured his one-man show about the rants and writings of Edgar Allen Poe. Vincent was grand, expressive, and quite mischievous. We were eating at a local diner-burgers and fries, if you can imagine-and the waitress kindly asked if her friend at the cashier might have his autograph. She was asking because her friend was simply too frightened to do so. Afterwards, we stood patiently in line to pay our bill. When he stood face t’face with the shy cashier, he waited until they locked eyes and then he bellowed “Boo”! She screamed a good one, and he laughed out-loud as only Vincent could.

Vincent Price passed away in 1993, this day, October 25, and all the children did boo-hoo!
